I’ll be at the Audi Driver International show tomorrow at Castle Combe, I’ll be out on track in the Lupo. As well as loads of car clubs there’s quite a few trade stands and some nice demo cars going out on track. For more info: Audi Driver International
Cage update and…oops!

The car is now going to Ajec Racing for fitting after a issues…..anyway made a little mistake last weekend…I removed the sunroof last weekend with the intention of riveting on an aluminium sheet this weekend however I got caught up and didn’t get the sheet fitted. Anyway checked the car yesterday and there were 2 huge puddles in the drivers and passengers footwells 
Guess those 2 car covers I had covering it weren’t enough!!! Anyway after drying the car up and removing the water we had a bit of a play and removed a bit of wiring, had a mess around under the engine bay, removed the battery, and took the front bumper off to get a better look around.
Clothing and Helmet

I placed a order with Demon Tweeks for the remainder of my clothing and its all arrived so I’m fully kitted up now (apart from the boots which are on back order)
Autosport at NEC
Jan 19th
So I went to the Autosport show at the NEC on Saturday to buy a new things and managed to get my seat and side mounts and an OMP Race Suit, also had my medical there! I wanted to get a few more things like helmet and stuff but it was so busy I got a bit fed up to be honest lol. I booked my ARDs test as well today!!
Oh and I signed up to the championship at Autosport! So I’m now officially on board. Looking like a huge grid as usual this year and with the EVO’s moving to another championship there should be a bit more competition in the other classes, should be exciting!
Got a car!!

Ok well after much searching I decided on a VW Lupo and I found one up in Northwich, Chesire.
So I hired a trailer, thanks to A Class Motorhomes in Swindon who have some impressive bits of kit down there….and with a bit of help towing it (don’t ask lol) we got it back to Bristol!! Only a 10 hour round trip….
So more about the car its a 2000 VW Lupo Sport 1.4 16v with a few additions, namely: Raceland Manifold, Decat, Powertech Induction Kit , GTI leads, Gearbox from an S , Weitec HiCon GT Coilovers.
Work on it shall start very shortly and I think the first thing on the list to get done is to strip it down and then onto the roll cage.
Towing Car Bought

Today I went upto Cheltenham and bought myself my towing wagon. It’s already got a tow bar fitted and plenty of torque for towing.
I should hopefully be picking it up Wednesday!

Just thought I’d say welcome to David Rose Racing.
My names David Rose, I’m 23 and from Bristol. I’ve been a marshall at Castle Combe for a year now and I’ve always been a motorsport enthusiast. So I’ve decided its about time I took one of the things I love to follow and try to compete myself.
So the aim of this blog is to follow my progress through building a race car for the Castle Combe Saloon Championship Class D and also my racing hopefully if we ever get there!
